Greetings,
This is hopefully the first post of many for my anticipated road trip. The trip from Southern California to Virginia...and back. The trip been planned on and off over the years since 2017. It was originally titled "54 or bust" as it was discussed while a friend and I grinded for artifact power in Blizzard's World of Warcraft Legion expansion.
The opportunity for the trip presented itself with the completion of grad school and other reasons. I will be on the road for a few weeks and due to COVID-19 my extended rides have been seldom. I will be making up and cramming in many trips into the span of a month.
Today was the semi-dry run of my (new) gear to see how it should (in theory) all work out. I spent quite a bit of time loading up the Ninja and then went southbound through Santiago Canyon. I stopped by a location to pick up a new mount for my secondary camera. This additional camera will be used for timelapse captures. Once it was mounted I was on my way to San Diego at the advice of a person.
I cruised down the 5 south and like most of my trips always nervous my bags will end up scattered...fortunately no bags were harmed. I ended up in La Jolla after using my GPS to locate food. I stopped at a local BBQ restaurant for a pulled pork sandwich and fries. While I was eating at the Ninja I was reminded of why running out of gas is a bad time unless you have some suckers supportive friends.
As they rolled away I got back on the saddle and attempted to find a parking spot for a photo.
After the photo I was able to continue on my way and meet up with some friends for a social distanced loitering session in a parking lot. Would loiter again.
The ride home was not too bad except the new Corbin seat was not as comfortable as expected. I hope it improves but I am not optomistic. Today's test ride was successful without any casualities that I am aware of.
As I type this I am transferring the recordings from today via rsync to a Raspberry Pi 4.
Until the next post which will likely be my departure day.
