Another lazy day to sleep in so this will be a short post. I mentioned all the rain gripes including my soaked boots to a fellow rider and they linked me overboots. I could pick up rain overboots at a local Cycle Gear, but it is something I can grab when I get home. After all how much more could it rain on me? Famous last words I am sure. I should also finally not forget to invest in heated grips for touring.

We all got ready to head out to a basketball weekend tournament for yutes youths. It has been years since I have attended something like this and it brought back memories as a kid. Memories of setting the clock on my VCR so I could record Saturday morning cartoons. Simpler times. Bench warming with friends while watching everyone else hustle, suckers. How I probably felt going to games just to sit on a bench:

I'm here so I won't get fined.

There were (2) two games being played in the gym, people cheering from the sideline, and multiple referees blowing their whistle. A lot going on. I only hoped the team I was there for won so the next game would be an hour from now and not many hours from now. The team won so I was they were happy. The next game would be for the championship and there can be only one.

Before the final game I decided to purchase Gatorade to quench my thirst. I was concerned following sketchy paper signs around doors and corners through hallways and finally into a room. I bought "red" for my flavor and walked back to the court. Apparently these two teams have a history so it could be an interesting game or not. Points were scored and our team won! Champions. However, since I am not a sports person I do not know if it was a good game for the team. The team picked up their matching shirts and took group photos together before going their separate ways for the day.

We decided to watch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after the tournament. The initial showtime we picked would not allow our group to sit together so we waited for the next showtime. I want to add that I am glad theatres allow patrons to choose seating now while purchasing a ticket. It is better than days of old hoping your group could sit together, failed attempts of "reserving" seats for a group, getting stuck in front, or even queuing up for a premiere. I know assigned seating is imperfect, but being able to choose from a screen is a welcome convenience. Unfortunately the food court was closed while we waited so no Cinnabon or other mall food for me. No access to mall food is fine though since my immersive movie experience would not be complete without buying overpriced snacks from the concession stand. Popcorn, ICEE (initial flavor choice was on the fritz), nachos sans queso (tortilla chips), and gummy bears. I like eating snacks while we all sit through trailers. The movie was fun and I did not fall asleep. I should charge my Zune, but now it is time for bed.
